She was a curious child who built, explored, and constantly asked “why?” From school science fairs to band section chair and team leader, Djuana was a multidimensional force, always driven by excellence, always called to lead.

Raised by a powerful village of women, Djuana learned early that excellence wasn’t just about what you achieve, it was about how you show up, serve others, and hold yourself accountable. That foundational belief has carried into every aspect of her leadership philosophy.

Dr. Djuana Harvell holds a PhD in biomedical research and has published in scientific journals. But her most transformative work happens outside the lab—At the intersection of health, community, and leadership.

For over a decade, she has served as the Director of Special and Innovative Projects within the nonprofit sector, where she’s led major initiatives in health advocacy, community engagement, and team development.

Now, as the Founder and CEO of Duo Impact, Dr. Harvell helps organizations redefine how they lead, starting from within. Her work has touched nonprofits, healthcare systems, and education sectors.
